Shoeboxed 2024 Survey Results & ScanSnap Winner!

In March 2024, we invited Shoeboxed users to enter a survey to win a ScanSnap iX1400 scanner, sponsored by the fantastic ScanSnap team!

How many Shoeboxed users participated?

A total of 273 Shoeboxed users responded to our survey. 

Survey question 1. What industry are you in? 

The 3 top industries represented by Shoeboxed respondents were service (21%), real estate (15.8%), and healthcare (13.6%). 

Survey question 2. What is your average monthly expense total for your business? 

The top 3 replies for average monthly expenses were $1,000 to $3,000 (22.7%), under $1,000 (16.1%), and $5,000 to $10,000 (14.3%).

Among respondents who reported $100,000+ monthly expenses, the largest cohort was in retail and ecommerce at 23.5%. 

Survey question 3. What were your top 3 business expenses over the last 3 months? 

The top 3 business expenses that Shoeboxers spent on over the last 3 months were payroll (34.4%), professional services (28.9%), and insurance (25.3%). 

Survey question 4. In what area have you seen the highest rise in business expenses? 

The top 3 categories where Shoeboxers have seen the highest rise in expenses have been insurance (17.2%), payroll (11.4%), and professional services (10.3%). 

Survey questions 5 and 6. Associations and information sources

We asked respondents what associations they belonged to, what conferences they attended, and where they went for information. 

Due to space constraints, we can’t list the wide variance of replies—needless to say, our Shoeboxed users are a well-connected and well-informed crew!

Survey question 7. Do you use Shoeboxed for business or personal use? 

The majority of respondents said they use Shoeboxed for business (48.7%). Respondents who use Shoeboxed for both business and personal expenses weren’t too far behind (40.7%).

• 40.7% use Shoeboxed for business and personal

• 9.2% use Shoeboxed for personal

• 1.4% not currently using Shoeboxed

We received an overwhelming number of positive reviews from Shoeboxers, and we’ll be highlighting some of the reviews we collected throughout the Shoeboxed site. Stay tuned!
